Ever heard the phrase eat the rainbow? Experts recommend this because naturally coloured foods are a rich source of vitamins and minerals. Hibiscus petals have high levels of antioxidants and Vitamin C – both of which can bolster your immune system. It is also known to improve digestion.
Brewing instructions: For a hot brew, add 1 teaspoon per cup (150ml). Always pour hot water (80°C) on the petals and not the other way around. Steep for 2-3 minutes.
Storage advice: Store in the pouch or transfer to an airtight container, kept in cool dark place. If not consumed immediately it should be stored in the refrigerator.
If storing in the freezer, pack in small completely airtight packets or jars. Before use, wait for it to reach room temperature to prevent any condensation. Each packet should be used within a week after opening.
